So it turns out I have 36 souvenirs. I thought it was 23 but I remembered that one night where the place I was invading was packed with live questers trying to help each other out. That was a good night.

@sword This is my build Not very original, but it gets the job done. I'm working on a 120 hyper mode caster right now. So far it's been lots of fun.

Ah yes...Kalameet. The ******* of the dragon world. Excuse my language, but cutting his tail of for the first time is a *****. I could help you out if you're in PSN. I have several builds that don't need it, so I could just give you one. Or you could summon me, and we'll ram our darkmoon blades down his throat.

It's gonna be for a SL 30 or so.

Want a low lvl Darkmoon with the minimum stats for Obsidian greatsword.

The 420 base damage will be beast at low levels.

That dragon sword upgraded is death to low levels. Even a 1v3 will be in your favor if you wear armor that is good and midroll.

Even at high levels it is devastating. With DMB, at SL 100 I can kill most people with 2-3 swipes.

I was sl 18 with no upgraded weapons. It was during a late-night twitch thing with Rynn and WhatDoesThePendantDo?, turns out it is possible to do that with low sl.

Low level invading just doesn't appeal to me. SL 100-130 and 50-75 are the most satisfying for me. The fights are usually longer and require more strategical thought. Going for low-level 1-shots just doesn't capture the excitement that can be found in higher level PVP.

I just find it sad. Anyway I never found a way to use the full power of AoE attacks expect in close quarters. Though the Obsidian sword is faster and still good for close areas.

I've really only found the AoE useful for hitting them as they're standing from a backstab or pancake. Although I have killed some turtles who trapped themselves in a corner.

For a low poise opponent I usually WoG them onto their back and then use the AoE to catch them as they're standing.

For a high poise opponent I usually look for a parry + AoE or just chip away at their health.

How do you guys counter people who run away or turtle until your buff runs out?

Never buff so I have little understanding of those tactics For AoE I resort for when I have to fight phantoms. Four things come out for me. 1: they are smart and move back making me waste it. 2: the phantoms try to stun me and take full hits. 3: the host runs into it and dies while the phantoms run away. 4: All take it and die.

All those things happen for me as well. I just find that the AoE is more likely to hit If you set them up for it. Basically, you'll have more 3&4's. It's not full proof, of course, but I see no point in using the AoE only in drastic situations. I try to incorporate it in most situations. Don't spam it, but using it strategically can definitely enhance your tactics in ANY situation.

For example, I noticed that a guy I was fighting liked to run up and attempt to parry. I was getting tired of it, so I decided to take a risk and I used the AoE right before he activated the parry animation. Over 900 dmg to finish him off.

I have several builds that use buffs extensively and I have developed one strategy that works surprisingly well for its simplicity. I call it "The Bum Rush." All you have to do is get a nice light quick hitting weapon that by itself "appears" like it will do little damage. I personally run with the estoc.

For regular turtles just go for chip damage as much as you can, don't get discouraged you are probably doing more damage than you think. Once your buff runs out they will likely come out of their shell but don't let up, keep rushing them. You will have to apply some skill in order to avoid getting backstabbed, throw a kick as soon as they drop their guard to circle you for the BS.

For flip turtles you run up on them but DO NOT ATTACK. Throw a few feints just as they flip the first few times. Then once they think your just desperate to get damage in before your buff runs out, rush them again but this time don't attack until you see them dodge. Attack as soon as the dodge animation begins. Because the estoc and other rapiers running attack hits twice, unless they are spamming the dodge you WILL hit them with the second attack on the run.

The only type of turtle i ever have trouble with is the kind that use the environment for cover. These are the most experienced and easily the most dangerous turtles. The two strategies mentioned above will not work. The only trick I know that works is to get your WoG rag out and WoG them through the obstacle.

    I hope this helps Jwebby

I agree with the bum rush as long as your aren't predictably spamming. An experienced PVPer would be able to parry an R1 spammer. Even I manage to do it occasionally.

For the regular turtles, I've decided to carry gravelord sword dance.

I really like your advice on the ninja flip turtles. Extremely insightful. I plan on implementing it soon.

The wind up on Gravelord spells is WAY too slow. Any DkS player worth his salt will just dodge away as soon as you start to cast. WoG is just way better if your using a buff. Its faster more powerful, AND does huge amounts of chip damage.

True, but I have found that using it can make the fight more entertaining. As opposed to WoG in someone's face until their shield breaks.

This is for a new dex build. I'll have more ATT slots, so I can just carry both.

You already recommended estoc. Any other weapons? I'm probably also going to carry a falchion

Fire tempest is also a good AoE spell. Also if you are going dex you might want either your main to have bleed or use a backup bleed weapon. As for rapier I love using Richards, it is so fun with it's moveset and r2 attacks.
