To post an image from your computer click on the 'host an image' icon (the picture with a disc in front of it). Upload a picture, click 'host it', then copy the image script and paste it into your sig. If you're hosting your image somewhere else already, you should be able to get a code and copy & paste it right into your sig. And if you want to turn your picture into a link the video below will show you how (though you'll probably have to host the image do so; I couldn't get the link to work right with the 'host an image' code).

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Wow, been a while since I played this long during a single day. Went on just to post this.
Amongst playing coop and regular pvp, I completed my mission in PW.
Most opponents were duelists, most of these plain trolls (fishing with or without flip ring, dragonslayer greatbow, twop [lol as if twop bothers you when using iron flesh]), but also encountered many questers. Couple faith builds, was surprised there were only 2 magic spammer there.
Several seemed to be bad or new players, practically giving me free kills. Like that one there who simply didn't see me. Always spawned at the red soapstone and scouted before heading out. I managed to sneak past him and onto that house where you drop down for dried fingers, then walked the way I got up there back down. He stood where the first archer was, watching the phalanx. I walk up to him and wake him with a bs, then the aoe of the obsidian gs to finish him as he wouldn't be able to get out of the area due to the ledges. And gues what, he tried to parry.
I have fat roll and that guy wasn't the only one where I could effectively sneak up on...
Or a duelist who blocked me after the third match. She won the first one purely with bs fishing. In return, I killed her twice purely with 2hr2 obsidian gs. Did you know the aoe can hit twice, more likely than fire tempest to hit three times rather than just two? I also found out the obsidian gs aoe is quicker than fire tempest.
A Tarkus cosplay actually tried to challenge my poise... and failed, as it was to be expected.
Life is good.
And with that, I am ready to start my second scouting mission. But not before getting some sleep. Night, folks.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Good work 20! LOL @ the guys TWOPing you with Iron flesh on! I remember some cool guy in the forest obsessed with dead angling wog on me, even though I had 2 rapiers, a bow and a talisman -- and he'd seen all 4... and we were fighting at close quarters the whole time, so I couldn't have quick swapped.
Try the Darkroot Garden next.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Aw damn, forgot to check on the forum today.
Anywho, Butterfly or Sif forest? It's a small, yet significant difference. Or do both count as Darkroot Garden in the sense both areas (save for the Darkroot Basin down in the Butterfly zone) are called this?

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Try both. You get people in each but the forest is hardcore anti-darkmoon territory.

Hm, a challenge then. It's half to midnight here right now, so I will take it on only tomorrow. We'll see how it turns out.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Sure thing, Hali!
----
Re forest nomenclature: I've always gone off of this. Though, I just realised that when you go to the forest hunter part of the forest it doesn't put the name of the area up on the screen. The Basin area pops up when you go out to the cliffs toward the hydra; though for summoning purposes it's all part of the butterfly area... bizarre.
Anyway, 20 I meant the Butterfly area. And looking back on the 1st page, there are specific areas for rank 2 members (Kiln, Forest, Burg, township & Dark AL). There is, however, a provision for sending Rank 1 members to areas of greater danger. So, as before, if you're not getting anything in the Butterfly area you may move to the notorious no-holds barred section of the forest. Not that big of a concern... but it's probably a good idea not to give orders that run counter to the rules while filling in for the boss. I had a bit of whoops moment , realizing I had suggested Dark AL to Rank 1 members when I went back and read the rules... as I said, though -- I think using the rank 2 locations as an alternative is fine under the 'more danger' provision.

- concerning ranks, the OP says:
- Rank 1- Scout of Velka. Will be sent by Amadeous Eladsyrd, Son of Velka (Amadeous313) or a commanding officer to purge sinners in the area of our choice (one of the areas that isn't a 2+ location). AS a scout we may move you to another location if we find more danger there.
Rank 2- Bishop of Velka. The hardest sinners to purge are found in certain areas of he world, these areas are covered in sin. The forest, the Kiln, the Burg, Dark Anor Londo, and Township are two new areas accessible for rank two messengers. Feel free to use any means necessary to win an invasion.

But well, it also says that the Sif Area is the DLC gate, so...
Anywho, then the Butterfly Forest it shall be. And even if I get nothing in BFF, switch to Sif forest and run into twop gankers, that won't bother Iron Havel who does not roll anyways. XD

On Saturday I will be able to start seriously to invade, and I plan as mentioned earlier to do so in Painted World. Is there anything I should bring with me there.?

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Doom (sorry, Kitty and everything else is reserved for my girl), you also might want binoculars. They can really be helpful in spotting your opponent.
I recommend going past the phalanx. If you start invading in the circly building before the fog gate where the phalanx awaits you, you spawn atop where you find the red soapstone. You WILL NOT run into spawnpoint gankers up there and you can easily scout the area, see the game's progress (if he still has the fog gate to phalanx, if the shortcut gate is open, if he already turned the statue, if the dragon still lives and so on). I rarely had to look for my opponents, only when they were just sitting at the beginning of the level, that was thus always the first place I checked.
Also, any form of aoe is lethal there. Trust me and be creative.

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
Ok this is nuts, second guy was a hacker in havels/thorn armor combo and he tried to katana spam. I parried him for around 400 damage with a buffed ricards rapier doing less than 5% of his max HP so I dashboarded before the parry animation finished. SO MANY HACKERS TODAY

Re: Messengers of Velka Rise.
New Lando had an unskilled player with VERY low soul level, I think he was around 11 since I got 543 souls for killing him if the same percentage of souls is earned for killing a host as other invaders. Probably a twinker with high sin
