Re: Average KDR in shooters
Team Swat is my bane. The need for consistent headshots just irks me. Mainly because of my terrible aim.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
Lol. The aim assist actually gets in the way at this point. I'd venture to say team swat is why I'm good at halo. (the DMR is my best weapon by far, over half my kills are with that or my fist) Its so demanding, I have no choice but to get fast and accurate, and rather sneaky, all of which are very helpful in other modes.

I know a lot of people who love Living Dead, but I hate it. The Zombies will nearly always triumph, unless the survivors get into a glitched location.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
My K/D is around 2.0 in Battlefield 3.I never camp,I play the objective and wade right into enemy squads.I found Call of Duty to be a joke,I think it's rather stupid being rewarded for sitting in the corner. It's a game, walking around won't kill you.(Psst,I hate campers)
I had a pretty good K/D in Reach from owning SWAT but Halo 4's horrible matchmaking(US players had host, even with the rest of the lobby in Europe),I probably don't have much higher than a 1.4 or 5.

I despise Halo 4's multiplayer. There are so many grenades flying around everywhere, I don't know what the hell's going on.

That's the other reason why I don't play Halo. You either grab a DMR and throw frags perfectly or you lose.SWAT was the only thing I liked since there were no grenades, plus I have great reflexes for headshots.RenegadeCop wrote:I despise Halo 4's multiplayer. As I mentioned before, even with the aim assist, I wasn't the best at Swat, although I can't argue it was one of the better game modes.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
I love the whole, one shot, one kill thing. Not so much on hardcore game types on other shooters, that just ends up in everyone spraying everywhere with SMGs.Looking into getting a gaming PC so I can play Arma 2 without my computer having a heart attack as it does now.5FPS isn't easy to shoot stuff on...

Re: Average KDR in shooters
Arma 2 requires a pretty good computer, yes, but if I can play Crysis 2, I should be able to play that. I just never tried to play it. I have seen some of my friends play it though.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
My K/D in Halo CE was somewhere around 11.
In Halo 3 it was 8.7 (like my year of birth ).
Haven't bothered to play many FPS games since, but I think that in CoD and BF games, my K/D was somewhere between 1.5-2 at best. I never liked those games. :/
If you're wondering how I could have got such high K/D in Halo games, the answer is simple. I was using mouse with Sniper Rifle on consoles.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
I can't speak for halo 4, but in reach the pistol, concussion rifle, and plasma pistol will all consistently beat a DMR in single combat, assuming appropriate spacing (i'm excluding power weapons, all of which except the sword {which can be blocked} come out ahead). The concussion rifle in particular almost always comes out on top as its extremely tough to aim through, the pistols only win at short range or in tandem, as they fire faster and the charge shot-head shot combo is brutal (the magnum works best for that because it swaps in faster than the DMR). What the DMR has is versatility.KrazykevS10 wrote:That's the other reason why I don't play Halo. You either grab a DMR and throw frags perfectly or you lose.SWAT was the only thing I liked since there were no grenades, plus I have great reflexes for headshots.RenegadeCop wrote:I despise Halo 4's multiplayer. DMR is actually a great weapon. I just see that most bodyshot to kill with it, although it is intended for headshots. I just hate seeing weapons used wrong.

The game looks very interesting and I love the idea of your own room and the lobby with oter players around.
However, in my first game.
I took a sniper rifle, headshoted a guy two times in a row. Game showed me both shots were a hit. He still lived.
Quit Game.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
It is great. I never argued that, but there are a number of weapons that beat it in a number of situations. The best use of the DMR is opportunist, using its many strengths to prey on people who's weapons arn't suited to beat it at the current range, where most weapons are more focesed and have to play to their strengths, rather than the opponents weakness.RenegadeCop wrote:DMR is actually a great weapon. You mean the people who fire it as fast as possible instead of spacing properly? I love fighting them. Its always funny to get jumped by one of those people and kill them anyways.
Meta gaming is why my k/d ratio is usually high, to whomever asked.

To your question, yes, that is who use it wrong, and they are those that increase my K/D the most.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
I showed my brother this thread, and I quote:
"This thread is such a pissing contest, they're all obviously lying. No matter how good or how much time you spend on playing thing slike COD, a KD of 3, 4 or any other number higher is just ridiculous and an obvious lie."
I kinda have to agree with him on this one, it seems like ******** (especially tolvo's 50 KD, which i hope is a typo, but still then in my opinion stupid)

Both he and I think KD's like that, even up to 2 I accept as completely plausible. My friend had KDs of 2 and 1.5 on COD and halo respectively, but he is INSANELY good.
It's the ones where people say they've got like 3.84 and ridiculous stuff like that. The sheer format of the game means a KD like that is pretty much impossible to get, you always have a bad game or two, or an average game.
But like he said, it's a pissing contest.

It is in no way a COD game, so if you were expecting one hit kills with militia gear, you will be sorely disappointed. Everybody will have different shield and armor HP depending on the gear they use.
As a sniper, you'll need to spec into light weapon damage modifiers and sharpshooter for better effective range. But hey, if you just wanna run and gun, Dust would not be very fun for you.

Re: Average KDR in shooters
Dust is definetly a thinking mans game, not as much as dark souls, but its still a thinking mans game. Best bet is to join up with some friends and try to learn asap. also BTW, snipers seem to have a HORRIBLE reputation. Most people on the offical forums say that unless a sniper is telling enemy movements they would rather team kill a sniper than work with em

Re: Average KDR in shooters
Most snipers are bad. I agree. A lot of blueberries think they can pick up a militia sniper rifle and just pad their KDR in Skirmish. I'm a sniper myself and I usually get annoyed with my sniper team mates. They follow me around and try to snipe, but fail horribly and get minimal kills. The only thing they manage to do is give away my position.
As a sniper, you really have to communicate to your team mates. If you are a good sniper and not a red line camper, you will generally have the best vantage of the entire battlefield. You're like a personal UAV that can also do damage and thin out the enemies for your team.
Counter-sniping. I don't think I need to elaborate on this. It's pretty important.
As for the pissing contest, I'm just gonna leave this here...
