No, I'm actually Canadian.
However, I've seen many people outside of the Japan/Asia region using that template. So, that rule of using a template according to where you live is sort of meh... As long as you put great effort into your designs.

Another vote for you Marionx. Hopefully they don't DQ the ones sent on the "wrong" template because that's a good design. Although that means I have six shields in since I sent all of my designs on the Japanese template to the Japanese link BTM first posted.

Ok I'll come up with a creative way to tweet it. Typically tweets generate a nice little spike in traffic, and we've developed a pattern of only tweeting really useful/interesting links which gives people confidence to click through.

I would say just avoid being lazy like putting your face on the design then making everything red and "spooky" and calling it a shield.
My first design was honestly, just...."let's start doodling" and the rest is history.

Just in case anyone wasn't sure, the Dark Souls page confirmed in the first set of comments that you can design for any template, regardless of which region you are from:

Dark Souls: templates are affected to regions to ensure a better distribution of the templates. However, nothing forces you to take a template or another . You can even do one for each as you can post up to three creations.

- Only the templates are accepted. All other submission will be refused.
- No changes in templates’ shapes will be accepted. This includes fur, pikes, horns, chains, damaged edges for instance. Make sure you do not overflow.
- Do not post your design more than once. Please wait for for your creation to be moderated. You will be notified by email of the status of your submission.
- Use texts and symbols wisely. Non-relevant texts may be the reason behind a refused creation.

Thanks for posting this, this is very interesting! I have so much trouble to come up with a good steampunk shield using the round design...
