Phew! Just squeaked in at 26. Now we play the waiting game...

Is this shield in the top 30 because I absolutely love it.

Wow, looking through, there are some really bland and lame designs in the top 90! Very disappointing, when just outside that you can see some fantastic designs >.<

Well I commented on the Facebook stream so hopefully it will get a our shields noticed by the community and they'll mae an exception and send some of ours off too

Mine ended at around 177th of the european shields. I hope the first 147 get DQ'd

I don't know if everyone has seen the update on the dark souls facebook page, but they have showcased all the shields that have been sent to from software after filtering out the cheaters. I believe the number 30 design for US is the light dark shield made by los3r. Nice! Congrats, finalists. You defeated!

But seriously, its a shame the way the contest was run, because some amazing shields were submitted later in the comp and had no chance (like the Chaos Essence is awesome)

I totally agree. I'm glad that a good number of good designs made it for the US and JP, but am disappointed with EU, as there were some excellent designs that didnt get the votes

sending your source files is weird IMO, is a easy way to steal all the credit for your work, not saying that FROM would do this, but still, is weird.

I don't think its weird at all. They need to know if they can make the shield work in game. If you only had a tiny jpg, they would have to recreate your shield from scratch. So I am guessing it is to be able to eliminate shields they may not be able to reproduce in game, as well as needing the files of the winners so they can actually put your shield in the game too.

So I sent them like a 10,000x10,000 .psd of my source line-work. I hope that was large enough.

At first, I even questioned if it was legit, but it was confirmed on Facebook that it was.

Vegan666 made a really good point about From being able to reproduce the shields in 3D. I don't know what their time and budget is, but I would think having the source files with a large resolution would give From plenty to work with in a short amount of time.

Congrats to those who got picked to send their files. It would be great to have someone from the forums win this. Good work like this deserves the recognition.

I do agree that popularity contests are not necessarily a good way to run this... but it's a promotion stunt in the end so a necessary evil.

The shield with the metal Eagle motif is beautiful.
