I've just found this guy with 5 or 6 designs on the contest. I don't understand how they let this happen. His name is Baker :

There are more people in the world named Baker, but there's proof that it's only one guy

I already reported it to the Namco Bandai guy taking care of the Dark Souls page, feel free to do the same.

Yeah I find Baker suspicious too. On the FB page he says some of the designs are his brothers, but they all show marks of being... not very well designed. Some suspicions:

Solunus - seems like a negative of an existing symbol, not sure what.

Old Soul - the low quality of the image makes it look like it's a cut-out from an existing photo. Something architectural maybe? Weird lighting and texturing too. No sensible person would paint a blurred image onto a shield. This is just weird, must've been copied.

The Blood moth is just some swirls being distorted with the standard "sketch" filter in Photoshop. Not plagiarized maybe, but still suspicious that it was uploaded pretty late and easily made the top 30.

Abyss is the least suspicious to me.

I think by the end of it we'll all be in the top thirty. The amount of cheating is pretty crazy.

Looks like the contest is over. Good luck to everyone in the top 30. I just hope they remove some of the cheaters.

As for that Baker guy... well, spamming your shield isn't against the rules, as far as I know. But he has four shields? I just woke up and my brain isn't working properly yet, but I'm fairly certain you are not allowed to submit more than three.

Best of luck to the top 30! This was a pretty cool contest, despite cheaters. I wouldn't mind putting my shield designs in my portfolio as I really liked how they turned out.

Finished in 31st spot, by one vote lol. Cest la vie. I wanted to thank evryone who voted for my design, you guys rock. As an art student I'm always creating work, but I hate being a salesman for my work, I believe anywork that's good enough should sell itself. This contest was a pain, I made an exception to promo the design anywhere i could, because im a die hard souls fan, but i'm glad it's over honestly.
Btw this wiki had few of the best submissions in the whole contest. laus solis & oolacile tower were my favs from here

Keep an eye on it Rollo. If there's any that are DQed yours may get a bump.

Either way, those of you in the thirty, time for a happy dance! We saw some great designs here and had a blast making them.

Dont worry, Rollo, you have to subtract the suspicious shields above yours in votes, as they will not include them when sending the top 30 to From, Which means you made the top 30!! congrats man! there are ATLEAST 2 designs on the 2nd page that are getting canned, so you should be fine.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, but there are four UA shields in the US top-30. That's right, 4 suspicious UA (european) shields in the greatshield category. And a fifth Spanish one too. They might be deleted for either cheating or breaking the "choose your own region" rule.

The 2nd one would have bee cool in game i reckon

Phase 3: May 20th, 6pm CET. The 30 most voted drawings for each of the 3 shield templates are selected and submitted to Dark Souls Development team (Fromsoftware) for selection of the winners.
Phase 4: The winners are announced on the Facebook application Shield Design Contest on July 18th, 6pm CET.

This could be quite the harrowing wait - almost two months! Assuming mine isn't disqualified for some absurd reason, I've won first place in the European category.

Yeah, I'm hoping in the meantime they at least compile an official list of what is being sent off.. Especially since investigations on some of the more obvious cheaters seems to be taking quite some time.

Feels good to be done promoting, though. I'm really looking forward to seeing who wins.
