Hey, the Dark Souls page added a reminder for the rules.

So you can use any template you just have to label it correctly? Ummmm.....what?

Were there a lot of people who, like me, thought that you could only use your own region so they submitted a different template and then just called it their region? Why would you think that wouldn't be noticed. Hey everyone, have you seen my US template shield? I somehow made a design that makes my rectangle appear to be a perfect circle.....it's the texture. I swear it's actually a rectangle still.

You can use any template, but have to label it correctly. If you use a Japan/Asia template, you must label it as Japan/Asia, or else it will be deleted.

From the Dark Souls page (The rules reminder):

YOU CANNOT. Copy copyrighted work. If you believe a shield is plagiarizing a design, comment with a link to the shield and proof.
YOU CANNOT. Pick the wrong region when submitting a shield. For instance, if you use the European shield shape, select your shield's region as European. Mislabeled shields will be deleted, so resubmit it correctly!

If you guys look in the comment string on that post, people have been listing the copy/pasted shields. Hopefully the mods will see those and take the appropriate action - when those have been removed, everybody's designs will jump up a few spots, which is good news!

Another note is that you can not go over the outer shape or eat into it. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about that rule too.

I'm gonna post a link to the shields list every like 10 pages? just for newcomers who don't wanna go through the whole thread. Ideally it would be nice to have the link on the front page.

So glad all the plagiarised shields will be removed! Better for us that made theirs from scratch! Mine is based off a photo I took in Kyoto, Japan 3 years ago
