Buffing weapons and pvp

Without getting into the debate about honor duels...

I find that I simply usually don't have time to apply DMB or resins during pvp. While I always allow people time to prepare - whether they're invader or host - I usually am attacked during the buff animation.

Question - Do you usually have time to apply a buff to your weapon?

Mostly yes. I usually have my back against wall, so even if I don't get enough time its not too bad.

I mostly get Honorable fights in Kilin some just spam BS though which makes me angry RAAAAA!!!!! :x

I consider buffing an act of aggression. You buff = fight starts and I wouldn't expect them to let me buff either.

@nsane32 - mostly honourable duels...? What SL. These days honourable duels have dropped to about 50-60%.

I find it highly hypocritical that some of the same people I run into who insist on bowing at the start of duals because its honorable seem to take exception if I bow before them then buff. Apparently some people want a fair fight, as long as I'm not doing full damage.

Not that its super hard to buff in combat, its not a huge deal but still. Just seems like an inconsistency in the "honorable dualist" mentality.

Never had to buff anything, so I wouldn't really know. I do despise when I spawn into someone who is already casting TWoP and runs behind me before I've even finished the animation, that's some really weak stuff. Makes it all the more satisfying when they are crushed.

OP, same here, it's gotten to the point whee the majority of players I face will jump me as soon as I start to buff with dark moon or sunlight. I have gotten so used to the 3 on 1 jumps in the kiln that I almost don't even mind anymore. Scramble, create distance, buff....and spam bs. With hornet ring and great sword + 15 and dark moon, it's not uncommon for me to land bs for 2000 to 2650 damage. Ohko!
