With the game no longer in Miyazaki's hands and standing to be a departure, I think the extra time is a good thing. We don't want a rushed product on what could in essence be almost a new ip.

I'm a bit disappointed, but if it means the game is polished close to perfection, I guess I'm fine with that.
I'd rather have a finished game with hardly any issues than a game that suffers lag in some places and glitches people can exploit to achieve an unfair advantage.

I can only echo the sentiments of others on this issue. While I was hoping to play it sooner, I'm sure it will ultimately yield a better end product. And the more I think of it, there's still so much I have yet to do in the first Dark Souls. I've still hardly touched any play styles outside of the semi-tank-ish warrior realm.

the more i think, the more i begin to actually like that release date because it shows that FROM really is in control of the game development. On Bamco's point of view, a 2013 RD would be best to maximize sales, so hopefully this info will calm down some of the doomsayers out there.

I'm trying so hard not to watch anything to do with DkS II, or else it'll take away the excitement. I ruined my experience with DmC because I did that, so I'll shut out any news and game play that I come across. Unless it talks about the release dates.

What's not to say that this could be the case. Namco, especially the guys at From Software, have been known to troll their fans and customers in some form or another. The purpose of the Pendant, who was the Firstborn of Gywn, Humanity and The Dark Soul, heck even their other games they trolled us hard before! What's stopping them to troll us with this giant, small text, obscured shot of a poster with a release date that MIGHT be false for the sake of trolling. I don't think putting up a large banner/poster is THAT expensive, so who knows. Wait until E3 comes around or better yet, ends so that the real info can come out from them. You'll see.

ONLY chance for us to get the game sooner is that this date is for now decided next gen release and the version for current gen comes sooner, but that's highly unlikely since they already said that there is not going to be next gen Dark Souls 2.

obviously I'm disappointed that we have to wait another 5 months longer than we originally speculated, but on the other hand...
1. it gives them more time to perfect the game and make sure it is something extraordinary
2. it fits in SO well with buying my new house that I think the spare will will now definately be housing a 55inch telly and games room.. the "Dark Souls Room"
