Oh yeah. The server issue have now been supposedly fixed with the concurrent player cap raised from 5000 to around 8000 and several new worlds (servers) have been added. Square Enix have also given all players an extra 7 free day subscription as way of apology.

More servers are in the works for the next minor patch as well as decreasing the time on the idler kick function.

There have also been further details on the future PS4 version of the game with Square Enix suggesting they are toying with the idea of remote play function between the PS4 version and the PS Vita.

The PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn has been announced for February 22nd 2014 with a beta beforehand.

Also all players who have purchased the PS3 version get the PS4 version of the game for free.

On top of that PS+ is not required to play Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn on the PS4.

Well atm I only get to play on the weekends (I work out of town), so I have only got my Bard to level 32. Being Archer 32, Pugilist 16 & Leatherworker 17.

I love the content so far, but am having a hard time finding a party to get through Brayflox. Seems the tanks I always get from the df are under geared (i blame fate grinders for this), causing the mage to get in a bind and the whole thing snowballs. Oh well, this weekend is another chance.

Starting to really enjoy the crafting side of the game. Though the cost of materials is starting to become prohibitive, and I have yet to reach a high enough level for my craft to become profitable. I am able to sell certain items for profit at this point, mostly to DoL. It leaves me with a small worry about the long term health of the ingame economy. It seems that there may be more gil sinks at the higher levels than there are sources of income, but I will wait and watch before pushing the panic button.

I'm really impressed with the way SE responded to 1017 problem. Wow, the nerd rage was palpable across the internets. Since the additional servers/maintenance from last week I have had no problems logging in, even at peak time. So as long as they continue to support the game in this fashion, I will probably be a customer.

Overall, the entire experience has been very positive for me. I most qualify this by adding that this my first MMO, so I have no basis for comparison. The gamer in me that loves RPG's is completely stoked over this game. So much to do. Anytime I get bored at something, I just change what I am holding (love that part)cheers .

How are you doing? I would bet that you are already doing end game content.

I have my 50 Paladin, 20? Conjurer, 30 Carpenter and 38 Botanist. Yeah I have been doing end game but I got burnt out a bit so am taking a break atm. (Helps my game backlog too.) Also got a (I think) server first in killing Odin with my free company.

In terms of dungeons I cannot recommend joining a (helpful and welcoming) free company strongly enough especially at the level you're at now. It gives you access to not only cheaper repair and crafting options but also experienced help in terms of content clearance. If using the duty finder you just have to pray not to run into a Marauder as your tank. (Not to stereotype but most people I've played with suck at it. silly)

In terms of crafting the correct way to level up is not to grind (it burns through gil) but to use your Leve quest allowances exclusively for your crafting class. Leves give decent gil rewards so it allows you to level up as well as make a decent profit.
(Also always remember to log out in an Aetheryte camp or your inn room. Especially since you're away from the game during the week as the rested exp bonus multipliers you'll get will be huge.)

In terms of selling stuff on the market I would imagine various types of leather would make you the max profit margins. Since they are used by blacksmiths and armourers in a lot of their recipes. Although I am not entirely sure since I'm not a leatherworker and I'm on a Legacy server which has a lot of different factors in the economy than the normal servers.

Got my leatherworker to level 32 this weekend! I'm starting to make enough profit to feel more like a merchant than an adventurer:P . Thinking about leveling carpenter to about 35 as well, before I continue story content (not sure). And yes, I have been doing a bunch of trade leves. Get the ones with triple turn in and shoot for all HQ product.

I've made 400,000 gil (ish) off my Carpenter and Botanist combo. The huge bonus of Legacy servers is everything costs more due to the sheer amount of money in the system. Which means a very easy profit as long as you follow market trends (and don't buy too much yourself.)

I would say when selling crafting materials you've made. (or anything that stacks) to stack and sell them in groups of 5 or 10 and not 99 which everyone does. It's another good strategy I've found that should work on all servers.

In terms of crafting never stretch yourself too thin and take up too many professions. Specialise with 2 crafting and 1 gathering class(es).

Also every ten or so levels make sure to check and update or upgrade your equipment so that everything is in range to maximise your effectiveness in gathering and crafting.

Thanks for the advice. I always am looking to upgrade gear when I can. I too have had better luck selling small quantities or even single HQ items.

So, I just got this for PS3 and am enjoying it quite a bit happy

Just one thing bothering me.  Is it possible to jump when using a PS3 controller instead of a keyboard?  Normally this wouldn't be an issue but it's actually interfering with a quest I'm trying to do.

EDIT: I'm a derp. Apparently it's just triangle lol!
