"Days to a week?" And I thought I had a strained relationship with my family, albeit I never broached the MLP topic with my family mostly because I don't see a need but also because I'm not sure how they would take it so it does potentially save me a massive headache.Tolvo wrote:I suppose that sort of stuff always seems odd to me since my family is so distant, we live in the same house and go days to a week without speaking to each other. I'll admit that's a little extreme, but it's not entirely unbelievable. When I was still living with my family we only ever had 2 conversations regularly. "How was school," and "what are we doing for dinner tonight?" Other than that we all just kept to ourselves and did our own things. Anything else of importance was generally separated by a few days or weeks. It's not that far of a stretch to me to think that there's families out there who decide not to bother with those kinds of "asking just for the sake of saying something" conversations. Not that I'd like that lifestyle personally, as I feel even if the conversations were kinda meaningless they did at least keep us all in contact with each other, but I can't say it's unrealistic.WhatDoesThePendantDo? wrote:"Days to a week?" I'm usually quite and reserved when I'm with my family. (Which is basically all the time.) I do talk some. But it's definitely not much.Tolvo wrote:I suppose that sort of stuff always seems odd to me since my family is so distant, we live in the same house and go days to a week without speaking to each other. Wait for Reaperfan or Marino.SadPanda wrote:Since uh, I've been wanting to know for a while...
What exactly is so alluring about MLP to some?
I just don't get it, no offense to "bronies" or the show... but...
What's so good about it?

- The short version:
It's an above-average animated show in terms of general all-around quality. It's been praised for having strong characters, relatable stories, fluid animation, expressive yet simplistic art style, and strong performances from it's voice actresses and actors.
That said, the answer is rather simple: It's a genuinely strong and well-made cartoon.
The only reason it's treated any differently from other strong cartoons like Adventure Time or Regular Show, and the reason it's become such a big deal, is because of the stigma attached to the franchise name of "My Little Pony" it happens to hold.
Long version available upon request, should the short version prove insufficient.
