Think of a good orange soapstone message for Dark Souls 2

Yes I really like the idea of covenants being more important. I think Praise the Sun was meant to be a general prayer that everyone said rather than being unique to the Sun Bros (as I mistakenly thought due to the emote) but I think it would be pretty cool if every covenant had their own.

They could also offer unique knowledge known only to the covenant. The Daughter of Chaos covenant could say 'Daughter of Chaos ahead' for example before the BoC fog gate as she would probably know one of her sisters still guarded the fog gate. 

Maybe if you're killed in PvP your blood stain could change colour to black or maybe it could vary depending on the covenant that the killer belonged to. Hell maybe the phantoms we see roaming the world could have a very slight tinge depending on their covenant.

covenant specific messages would be great! Hopefully covs will serve a deeper purpose and result in deeper loyalty within them, otherwise I foresee more troll messages, but those are part of the fun.

Someone mentioned the idea of trap-messages. That would kick ***. read the wrong one and it inflicts plague, which could be traps set by a certain cov on another.

Love the idea as long as it isn't spamable. Maybe it could be area specific so Catacombs could revive one necromancer you've slain but only 3 of those messages could be placed within the area at one time. Similarly Blightown could inflict toxic from Daughters of Chaos etc.

Not sure what the reward would be though. Maybe a covenant token of some kind but you could get really creative with all of the traps that could potentially be done.

Yeah, couldn't agree more, would take real careful consideration to make sure it isn't open to abuse, how that would be approached I don't know, like you said, perhaps limiting the area, number of possible traps, and the amount of time permitted between dropping one then another....actually, that sounds like a decent means of control! Winner

Possible message: "Did this so many times now, I feel like an NPC"

On a serious note, some good ideas here.

Just "Prepare to die" as the reference would be nice.
"Are you a cleric?.." - to place just before an ambush.

Maybe they will throw in an easter egg in some form or another. What would be a good one?

PvP invite sign, like how gravelording works with getting people to invade your own world.
Maybe a black soap stone for that?

Ok I might be completely misunderstanding this but would this mean that you write messages with your covenants soap stone (meaning you only see messages from your covenant) and thus you could link multiple covenants together to get more messages/help?

Well, that's not what I meant,

I meant you could place three soap stones and link them so if one shows up in someone's world, then they all would.
