See nothing really leads me to believe she is his daughter, especially considering she's probably older than him being a Witch of ancient times.

And the art book makes her look pretty hot. Don't tell the professor I said that though. Shhhhh.....
Yup, that really is wild speculation. The evidence only takes me as far as her learning from him and looking up to him. The descriptions seem to reference a "classic" witch scenario with mother to daughter in "contrast" (catalyst description) to the Harry Potter Dragon School

DoughGuy wrote:Well she's obviously an enemy of Seath. She helps you
kill the buttefly and then the four kings. But during her time Seath
was not mad and would not have been all about killing Oz and kidnapping
maidens. She migth have been an enemy of his because he started the
Vinheim dragon school, seeing it as competition to her sorcery. But
presumably this would also be before the butterfly was there. So ...
bugger.
Tolvo wrote:Actually come to think of it, the Sorcerer Hunter is of
the Vinhein Dragon School. As well Beatrice can use Homing Soul Mass
can't she? Wasn't that Pioneered by big hat Logan? Or was just Soul
Spear his? I find it interesting that this Butterfly guards the Divine
Ember, an ember which makes the Catacombs an easier task. Why would
Seath even really care about that? As I said he is a Lord himself, but
he really doesn't seem like the type to actually care. Also something I
just remembered, in the Dukes you find an Enchanted Falchion, could it
be that he was testing around with enchanting items with the Ember? I
find it odd really that he would send it back, or possibly that weapon
was how he found out about the ember in the first place. What if as
well the hunters are hiding that ember from him, wouldn't it be
something he'd want dearly? Maybe both have their bargaining chips with
one another.
Tolvo wrote:Hmm, Beatrice, a Witch related to the Witches of Chaos
Distantly, working against Seath, who has a presence in the forest,
working with the hunters who have Shiva of a the east, a man who has
plans with the chaos Covenant, a part of the Witches, so many circles
are made in this forest.
Possibly this was once the white
woods, that the destruction caused it to change? I'm trying to think of
any white trees that can be found in game, I'm going to have to look
around. I feel like there might be some in Anor Londo.
Actually
come to think of it the Arch Trees have a huge role in the lands, and
the Darkroot Garden exists on one as does most of this world apparently,
could it be on part of a magically altered arch tree? I think some of
them are white, but I could be wrong.
The three posts about Beatrice in the dying darkrrot thread.

Re: Magical theory 201
We just keep getting distracted by new subjects and making new threads haha. Maybe we should just make a general lore thread and talk on those.

Re: Magical theory 201
Just as Seath is the father of sorcery Allfather Lloyd is the father of miracles. The miracle force is likely an indoctrination technique used by the WoW to convince young knights to join their cleric knight order. This works by showing them with enough faith they can have the gods power work thorugh them thus convincing them of gods existence. Some miracles, such as force or lightning spear, have a small connection to manipulating physics.
Miracles work by causing a physical change in the environment through the rigorous belief of the caster. With enough faith the caster can draw upon the origin of the miracles story and replicate the act by using their knowledge of the story and their own will to shape th energy around them into the original act.
It must also be noted that some minor miracles draaw upon larger more epic miracles. These minor miracles are simply shorter versions of the epic and thus only have a smaller effect.

Skare your bloody lucky I'm pretty smashed ATM. I'm sorry about being a bit off and on today, mostly off. Buddy of mine wanted to wish me a late birthday and ended up sneaking me into a couple bars. I'm still trying to sober up, but from I read I think class has gone pretty well.
Each form of magic has an originator. Pyromancy from Quelana and the ancient fire arts. Miracles from the allfather and his followers. Sorcery of Seath, the dragons, and Oolacile.
Beatrice was a rogue which who knew many advanced soul sorceries, even a spell of Seeker Logan. Is it possible that Logan is an ancestor to Beatrice? Possibly if you take the previous information on witchcraft vs sorcery.
On note of miracles, each story has various versions. As dough notes, the longer verses are closer to the original story, and create miracles closer to the original. I'm not a religious man, but I do believe in thought can lead to changes in the world if focused enough.

No worries, we did some good independent studies today. Hope the celebration went well but, as the resident old curmudgeon I feel obligated to warn you that intoxication can lead to bad things. Like my first marriage. Zing!

Yes yes I am well aware based on an old roommates late night activities. On topic I'm glad today wasn't a waste, though I'll have to figure a way to put this all on the board for tomorrow's class.

Re: Magical theory 201
eheh, thanks Dough. I'll use it and type up a pair of lectures to go with today's class.
How's that for today's summary?
- Spoiler:
- Who is Beatrice? A ancient rogue witch who has ties to Artorias the Abysswalker, Seeker Logan, the 4 kings, and even Seath the scaleless. She fights the Moonlight Butterfly in Darkroot, that guards the divine ember and may have scorched her land. She's able to fight the 4 kings in the abyss, which leads to the idea that she and Artorias held a covenant of sorts. She wields soul magics that was pioneered by the great seeker, but is not of Vinheim. Found is her body in the Valley of Drakes, felled after her own attempt at defeating the 4 kings.
These ties go unexplained, but we will speculate until something about her is confirmed.skarekrow13 wrote:Wild speculation engage!
The only other figure tied to Darkroot and the Abyss is Artorias.....a few thoughts in light of Beatrice, Teen Pop Sensation's info. Beatrice is perhaps able to walk the Abyss without the aid of the ring or us. Artorias seems to need the ring. From our in game experiences we see we only need to wear the ring while the Four Kings are there. The ring's only purpose appears to be to meet the Kings and in our case kill them. Plastic sheets ready for a blown mind? I don't think Artorias' covenant was in favor of the Four Kings in the state we find them. The other Abyss walker, Beatrice is hostile to the Kings. Our only use of the ring is hostile to the Kings. Was the ring made solely to hunt these guys down? Is the covenant a pledge to stop them if they go mad? Did Beatrice make the ring? Is it a wedding band for Artorias? She knows how to walk around the Abyss without it but surely would want help against these foes. Did Artorias, Kaathe and Beatrice conspire against Gwyn's chosen lords of New Londo?
Truly an amazing individual who like Artorias, The god of war, and the furtive pygmy, has a history that is lost in the annuls known as Lordran, and who's character leads many going hollow just to find more about her.
I thank skarekrow13 for digging up Information on Beatrice, and am glad our dear friend hasn't lost his mind in his lore hunts. Gods speed to you, you magnificent SoB.
How's that for today's summary?
