Hi there. I came over from the old wiki forums for Dark Souls, have posted here a few times. Been a souls fan ever since day one launch of Demon's Souls. I will never forget the rush of summoning my first phantom (also my first experience with multiplayer, ever).
Three years later, I'm still geeking out over Dark Souls II. Can't wait!

This is my second post. I made one about my stupid PAL version of the game not being compatible with the NA PS Store, complicating my ability to get Artorias of the Abyss.

Like Sloth a few posts up, I was introduced to Demon's Souls shortly after it came out. Actually my cousin bought it for me for my birthday and hyped me up on its underground awesomeness. I thank him so much for that. I didn't play Demon's Souls to it's full potential and didn't utilize the community as I've learned to moreso for Dark Souls, so I missed out on a lot. I don't think I summoned or was summoned once, and I went offline to fight that one monk boss, 'cause I couldn't deal... But my first intro to the DS community was through watching ENB's YouTube videos. They're long, but so amazing. The guy isn't just talented, he's really articulate and intelligent.

I've JUST finished my first playthrough of Dark Souls. I tried to 100% weapons and spells, but failed kinda miserably. I'm a dex build (didn't figure out how to understand any of this stuff until halfway through the game when I realized my Lightning Balder Side Sword wasn't scaling with the 40 levels of dex I put into it! So I've got a +15 Iaito, Quelaag's Furysword +5, Fire Uchigatana +10, Divine Uchigatana +10, Raw Scythe +5, Lightning Balder Side Sword +5, and then every other type of weapon I just need slabs to max them out, but I didn't feel like farming anymore. My guy is level 92, 64 of which are dex, 22 vit, 25 end, 14 int -- the only stats I think I touched. I mainly use my +15 Iaito and +14 Black Bow of Pharis. Also I'm on PS3.

I also tried to get all of the sorceries, miracles, and pyromancies. I was sure that I at least got the pyros -- I even gave the stupid 30 humanities to Quelaag's sister!

My main goal in NG, which I'm about to start immediately, aside from getting the spells I'm missing and upgrade the weapons I have left to upgrade, is to follow the NPC questlines to get the gifts and lore out of it. I also want to make sure to get invaded by all of the NPC black phantoms. I didn't even realize these things existed until I watched ENB's videos while I was complete except Gwyn, trying to 100% everything. Argh!

So my next post is going to be asking for a guide to following the NPCs for my NG playthrough.

Really looking forward to getting more involved in the community. ENB makes it sound like a really integral part of the experience. Sorry for the novel. Cheers.

Welcome! I popped the trophy for all sorceries the other day, just need one more sunlight medal and another Soul of Gwyn and I'll have all miracles too - then I just need some upgrade trophies and a couple of weps for Knight's Honour. This is going to be my first platinum, excluding Lego PotC, heh.

Anyway, I've got a fairly good grasp on NPC paths, and although others on the forum will be far better, I'm happy to help!

I never played demon's souls due to not having a PS3 but I always had a curiosity about it. So I got dark souls on my birthday and I love it to death. I love the depth and the sense of accomplishment. Even when I do die and lose 25k souls -.-
Apart from dark souls I like to play lots of other games, my favourites being Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2 and 3, Spyro 2.

Hey. Nice. I'm also 30 from Toronto. Just in London right now doing my Masters for a year before I hopefully head back. Unfortunately I wouldn't say Dark Souls is very stress-relieving for me -- worst game to play before bed. Heart rate goes soaring. On which system are you playing?

Also, while I'm posting again, I'll say what other games I'm into, since I think someone else mentioned that. I really dig the 3rd person action adventures. I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan, although I got kinda bored with Skyrim halfway through. I only play in third person. I think Minecraft is the only game I play first person, and that's mostly creative mode on a private server with my brothers. I love Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, games like these. I started the new Max Payne before Dark Souls took over my life. GTA. Also the Lego games which I play with my girlfriend. K, has anyone here played Vagrant Story? It's very similar to the Souls games, I feel. It's definitely one of my favourite games of all time. Just really in-depth, engaging, and amazing in every respect. Needless to say I love almost every game by the same creative team. Final Fantasy XII is my favourite -- incredible voice acting and music, environments and atmospheres, etc... (Team Ivalice or something like that?)

LET ME BEGIN! hey i'm Raecor14, i live in Australia and i am currently completing high school. i'm not rather sporty though i wish i was, i mostly spend my time playing games, reading, listening to music or watching videos. though if i can do it though school ill play ALF, volleyball or European handball as i don't really want to become the stereotyped gamer slob. while when i can i like to basically slander Australia as a hostile, dangerous place i am quite proud of my home.

in dark souls you will find me under the PSN off XxSage-FrekexX. you will often find me in the Painted world or in the township invading. i like a clean fight but don't find any tactic really cheap (well except for dark bead). the main reason i joined the fourm was to help out but i joined a little too late so i guess ill have to wait toll dark souls 2 to really do some good. ^_^

Awesome! I'm on the xbox 360 My GT is the same as my username here! lol i hear you sometimes on the heart rate soaring thing, thats only when i lose all my souls and then to die before getting my souls lol. But other then that love it.

Ahh its refreshing to see the young love of a souls game.

Hi there folks. Just wanted to say hi and massive thanks to all the contributors on this site for the invaluable information (many hours in work doing no work ) Im not playing as much these days after I got the 1000 achievement points and the fear of fighting four kings again on NG+++.

Heey fellow forummembers , I'd like to re-introduce myself since Ive been gone for 3 months.

Ziko is the name , Im 26 years old , live in The Netherlands , and I was a Dark Souls addict who came back for more. Ive been playing since release but took 2 much needed breaks because I got to involved with the game to remain to keep up with real life.

Im going to activate 3 new months of gold on XBOX live tonight , because Im awaiting the arrival of my ''Prepare to Die Edition''. I don't like renting/''buying'' digital content because it's future is uncertain and I like collecting collector's editions of games I love.

I love survival horror games , Gravelording , Black Phantoms , PvP , user created covenants , and infecting other players with Maggot-attacks.

Never played Halo or Call of Duty , nor am I planning to

Well i'm fairly new to the forums so i might as well introduce myself.

I'm a swedish gamer studying HVAC, i have long hair and listen to all kinds of metal. I didn't get DrkS at launch because i wasn't that interested but a couple of months after watching several houndreds of DrkS videos i decided to get it, and goddamnit was it good. It's been 10/11 months since i Platinumed it and i'm still playing. I haven't played any PVP yet and that's why i'll be getting the PC version for christmas. And i already have 6-8 PVP builds that i know i want to make.

Hi there, SpecialNewb here and on PSN. So a few you might have met me (or you know, not).

I hadn't even heard of Dark Souls until the petition to put it on PC got some press. Looking into it I realized that it was exactly the kind of game that would suck me in and it did. I only bought a used copy for $20 at end of September and have been playing little else since. The fever is finally starting to break but I'm still up for PvP. My connection isn't that great so I prefer being summoned, but I haven't got any "lag" hatemail so it must be decent enough.

Anyhow I've been reading the forum for a while and decided to join.
