My only real qualm with it so far is that I think some of the story missions are so impossibly frustratingly hard that they kind of take all the fun out of it. The Iron Maiden battle with Mr. Grimm was extremely frustrating for example. Right now I'm trying to do the 3rd race level, and it's not even fun. It's so hard that its just making me not want to the play the story anymore.

Yeah Sweet Tooth is awesome. The flight is cool, but I think the chopper is just too cheap, at least in multiplayer. I definitely use it in the story battles when I think it's warranted. I like the art style of the plot so far, but the part of me that's a responsible adult thinks it's over the top enough to be a bit irresponsible, if you know what I mean.

Has anybody played the game Journey? It's a PSN exclusive. I was just browsing for DLC's and came across a game video. It looks amazing.

I watched a full playthrough of it and it reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus. Make of that what you will.

Also, just to reiterate one of my earlier recommendations.. THE LEGEND OF DRAGOON. It's on PSN US for really cheap now too, so no excuses.
I own a 360.
You lied, there is an excuse.
I was obviously talking to the guys with PS3s, xbox users don't deserve it

Have you ever played Hardcore Uprising Dakka? Same kinda game. Cool anime-style graphics, fun upgrade system, retro gaming era difficulty level. Totally get your moneys worth.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
To be honest I've only played a few "bullet hell" style games. Realm of the mad god, Shoot many Robots, and Galaga
The anime style has never really appealed to me personally, but there's a first for anything I suppose, is there a PC version or is it exclusive to consoles?

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
I think it's either a PSN exclusive or a PSN/Xbox live game. Not entirely sure. As a throw back from that era it always makes me happy to find games that call on the same kind of hand-eye coordination/reflexes part of my brain. Bullet hell is one of my specialties. It's the kind of game where if you aren't really into those games you'd probably be doing yourself a favor by not getting it. It may be the game responsible for my most vibrant video game frustration display this generation.
Although at this moment Twisted Metal is definitely gaining on it. I've been really having fun with it thus far, but there are a few things you have to do to unlock things in it that are just plain unfair.

@OP
Red Orchestra 2
-Very unique
-Good graphics
-WWII eastern front
-Tactical FPS
---This means there is a realistic combat system (you die in 1-2 shot from rifles, and they need to be clicked twice to shoot, once to shot, next to pull the bolt back and load another round)
-Insane Tank accuracy (You don't see from a 3rd person, or have complete control like BF, you are sitting inside it and have to use the vision slits and periscope/cuppola to get a wider view, and the insides are completely modeled.)

So I just got done playing the Torchlight 2 Beta for 2 hours straight and the game is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes loot based rpgs at all.
On another note, has anyone here play Kingdoms of Amalur? I've been interested in it for awhile now.

I'm thinking about KoA also. I've been told a lot of conflicting things, but none of them have been bad. The most common thing I've been told is think Skyrim, with more engaging combat, like kind of God of Warish, and less trivial quests.

There's a demo on Xbox live so there SHOULD be one on PSN, I can't be sure though.

Red Orchestra was awesome, awesome enough to be one of the inspirations of my screen name (I went by GloriousComrade for the longest time, It was. One of the hardest achievements to get for RO at the time) most of tripwires games have been amazingly entertaining, I still can't help but quote killing floor every oprotunity I get

Kingdom of Amalur? The combat is top-notch. Classless system is awesome. The infodumps aren't. There are a lot of repetitive, MMO-like quests; be advised. I liked it, though. I would say it's a 8 out of 10. It just lacks a special something.
Also, my character got glitched inside a dungeon after 20 hours of play. Couldn't escape out of it. Haven't touched the game since that happened.
----
Red Orchestra 2 is to Brothers in Arms what Close Combat is to Starcraft.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
^Good analogy
Another good one to check out:
Men of War (Assault squad; Vietnam)
advanced RTT game, allows control of individual units (as far as aiming from a birds eye view) and vehicle control based on hit location and armor thickness vs shot penetration.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
All of my friends, who oddly, and shallowly IMO, won't take my word on how good DkS is because it's graphics aren't as flashy as Skyrim's, are playing either Diablo 3 or Kingdoms of Alamur right now. Having never played any of the Diablo games I'm wondering which would be more suitable for me. I need something to keep me busy for awhile. KoA definitely has a demo on the PSN but I mentioned to my friend whose been playing it that I was going to download it to help me make up my mind and he said it doesn't do the game justice at all, and that I'd ruin it for myself by basing my decision on it. I actually believe him too. Sometimes demo's represent such raw forms of what the final products end up being; for example, I remember playing the Dead Space demo when it first came out and it was absolutely horrendous. The controls were overly complex and unresponsive, it was impossible to aim accurately at the tiny little areas you needed to aim at to succeed, and the camera kept getting stuck inside walls during combat. I remember I made fun of it with a friend, "curb stomped" over and over, quoted American History X, then deleted it. But it ended up being an amazing game. Amazing franchise for that matter.

Re: Recommend a Game Thread.
I don't disagree. It's not my reasoning. I personally think DkS has beautiful graphics. I think they set the tone and atmosphere of the game really nicely.
