Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Just be careful, some bandit warriors can kill you quick, I had to revive one of my pawns 4 times in 1 fight cause he was getting 1 shot at full hp by them.

Night time is scary at first but once you level a bit the only hard part is the ambushes where you have ti fight ogres.

Great fun indeed friend, the saying in mind comes to me.....
"Can you fly Bobby"
As to the night time in this game?.
I personally like the night time as you get a lot more action although it is very hard to see it coming until it is to late.
Also certain objectives can only be meet at night time and only certain enemy`s arise at night time.
I am thinking about doing a short vid on a daytime battle and a night time battle,I will link it here if and when I do.
If you do not have this game yet friend I would much advise you to go buy or rent it.
It is far from a hack n slash and button bashing, also it does need thought put into progressing.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
The first time you fight any major boss type character can be extremely fun/stressful, in part because you as a player don't know what to do, and in part because your actual characters don't have skill in fighting the monster and will flail around alot and not do much damage. It took me 30 minutes to bring down my first armored cyclops. It's a clever dynamic that fits well with the game -- it's actually true of all enemies although most noticeable on the big ones, so your guys do eventually get better at handling bandits etc too.
Re dodging, there are actually some faux dodging abilities. You can run and then a split second later hit the jump, which turns into a roll. Melee characters also have various charge moves you can use even if there is no target, which is how I usually get out of trouble by just charging away from attacks. The day and night cycle is also quite fun, certain enemies and lootable items only appear at night which makes traveling interesting because what was safe during the day may not stay that way. It basically doubles the map area because places are so different at night.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
my character now has experience in all the magic classes and thanks to a phys defense boost skill from being a magic knight she can fight chimera's head to head (as the knight) or blow off two heads at once with flame wall spells:twisted: (as a sorceror or magic archer) btw how many vocation ranks are there, 10? if so my pawns pretty much maxed out the warrior class, any suggestions on what next?

If you play Strider, there is a dodge Core Skill you can buy. It takes up the place of the A or X button when you hold RB or RT1.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
I am probably gonna purchase it, but it's gonna be second hand when the price has gone down
I relate it to how much work I have to do to earn the game, and it's definitely not worth the 8 hour shift of what I do

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
I've completed the game and working on finishing the game on my 2nd play. Im now level 61 and find it amusing that I used to run from Chimera and Ogres to now beating them in under 30 seconds.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
- Spoiler:
- When fighting the Drake I am not sure if everyone is aware that you can save your game half way through the battle.
As we,or some know it has 8 health bars that need to be taken down by hitting its heart.
When it fly`s off to the other side of the area you can heal and save your game.So what I did was get him down a bit then save and repeated.
It was still a hard fight with a Strider and the fight started at night and the corpse was laying on the floor at dawn.
What a battle
Here a more pic`s of my last nights play
See how dark the area is,only lit up by the fire of this beast.I did not see it until it was to late
This battle started at night and ended at dawn
My ice blades make easy work of this beast
Who`s your daddy?
Defiantly need a bigger bow

I think you can do this with most situations you encounter, just back off a little and it should let you.

Re: Dragons Dogma (Pic`s & tips)
Actually I think you have to halve their health or something. I was pretty far away from the ogre and it didnt let me save till just after its first bar went down.
