Where have all the forest hunters gone?

I was invading last night at 200ish for about 3 hours and I was invading plenty of different hosts as usual.

But I never once saw another hunter. I invaded this one guy and got stomped by him and his phantom twice. His phantom was good, and the host spammed estus... Anyways that is a different discussion.

So I decided to run around the forest and harrass them once I invaded again. So I got naked and equiped my bow, poison arrows and RoF. Then ran around the forest shooting them for 30 min and sneaking up and BSing them. And not a single other invader.

Finally managed to seperate the host from the phantom after 30 min and then I was able to stomp the host for the win. But where was everyone? Have my beloved Forest Hunters died off?

Not in the slightest! mind you I am on xbox :/

I'm still alive and well but I haven't played Dark Souls in awhile though. But I'll return to the Forest some time.

My forest hunter is only lvl 21... I doubt we'll be crossing paths anytime soon.

Well everyone needs to get their butts back in the forest.

A little back up on a 3v1 would be nice occasionally....

i hate 3v1s especailly when im part of the 3... it feels so noobish thats usually why i summon one person to help with the area then summon one more at the boss door.

2v1 or 3v1 is pretty lame imo.

And I say that to hosts as well as invaders.

But I do enjoy the challange of being outnumbered in a fight. And I even manage to win most of them somehow. But what I don't get is the need for people to gesture that won a 2v1 or a 3v1, it's not like they won because they were skilled....

Now back on Topic. We need more Forest Hunters. Plus it's always fun to invade with people you know.

hmm i never called forest hunters evil. they are defending the grave of Artorias. and as long as they can't get to it they can't become a darkwraith! so your protecting people by killing them, kind of like the darkmoons... eh i guess they are kind of evil

Well I've grown a bit too distant from the majority of the Dark Souls community, so unless it seems like some civility will become common, I'm probably not going to return to the forest. And civility is something incredibly difficult to come by these days.

I'm currently doing some forest hunting at SL209 on XBox...

No 1v1 fights yet out of like 10 or so. If I invade and another invader is already there and it's 1v1 I'll wait until the fight is done. If it's 2v1 or 3v1 it's game on.

If I could control the frequency with which I invade as a FH the same way I can with the Red Orb, I'd FH WAY more often. I don't like sitting around waiting for the ring to activate though. For me the average wait time is in the area of five minutes between invasions, and by that time I've already whipped back to the Abyss and rejoined the DWs.

0.o damage you are getting a very different experience to me.. 90% of the time I am getting an invade once a minute once I am in an area where it activates...

^Same, It changes for me though. Sometimes I get them every minute and other times I get them every 5 minutes.

Only 4 people in a world max. If the host has two phantoms, you will never get backup.

I have never seen that, unless you've seen it first hand I'll trust the box, which says "2-4 players". I thought it was possible to have more, but everyone who responded to a post of mine claiming it was so said it was 4 players max.

5 players is possible, the Forest rainbow brigades prove it. FYI a rainbow brigade is a host, white phantom, gold phantom and friendly DW all ganking the hunter unlucky enough to invade them. It's also possible to be invaded by 4 as a Gravelord, 3 SoVs through your sign + Darkmoon or 2 SoVs through the sign + DW + DM.

Raging I'm not sure why you can't get help. When I host in the forest I get invaded every minute and get roflstomped by groups of WoG and emit force spamming hunters repeatedly.

I seem to be in dregs of internet space because my hosts rarely have more than one phantom these days (more rarely alone however) and backup is not something I count on.
