I just fought 3 people with the silver sign on their profile. Either this was a lag issue that it didn't show their Gold sign at all or thats Really cool seeing as Silvers can still play on Online mode.

It's possible that it's one of those "Free play" weekends where people with silver can do things that they could with gold for the weekend
