Re: For the Glory of Alvina
Actually, the time I ran into broke I was ~SL 70-80 Lol FH'ing is not very selective in terms of soul level. every so often you will get someone who takes loads of hits and get half a million souls for them

Depends, if you have high activity it will pick close. if it is not very crowded then you will get lots of randoms. ( felt really guilty about killing one host and getting 1.1k souls)

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
I do occasionally get really low levels but the highest I have gotten so far was maybe 50k souls so I guess I'm just fortunate not to be matched with somebody who is way too strong. Of course that would be an interesting fight now that I think about it....

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
Usually high levels aren't tougher. Think of all the wasted levels. Attunement only goes so far and resistance is silly. Whatever weapon they use will likely only take advantage of certain stats and same with the magic they have ready. All that going to insane levels does is askew heavier armor and the ability to "choose" class during your prep time

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
sorry but yes they are at 80, inevitably
if you give me 200 soul levels to play with versus 80 I think the 200 would win 6 times out of 7 assuming equal users (past about 200 it makes less and less difference but up until that point...)

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
I definitely agree with skare - higher SL opponents are not necessarily tougher because of the diminishing returns on level ups past a certain point (past SL200 sounds about right). I have defeated many campers who were of a much higher SL than I am. It basically comes down to how smart you fight - in this game the skill of the player usually trumps all else. An opponent skilled at exploiting lags and tricks could probably beat anyone in the game. These players have decided to invest their skill into learning how exploit the games physics. Even on my FH toon I will most likely stop leveling once I reach all of my stat goals. My next build will probably be balanced SL120 GL - I am looking forward to building a toon from the ground up again.
On the topic of tricksters - I just got a PM from a teleporting slug of camper I recently fought in the forest. He says he's not scared of being on my bang list - I told him "Heavens no!! Don't be scared I just want you to know if I invade you in the future a bang is imminent!!" This is basic "psy ops" - if he is already fighting an invader and I warp in he will probably make a fatal mistake trying to quickly kill his current opponent because if he doesn't he will get a pike to the back for sure.
Locked and loaded people.Just need to farm some rats and I will be mission ready for mass invasion.

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
@Infamous - very nice build indeed. Will have to incorporate some of your ideas into my new GL toon.I'm not too fond of the Zwei though so I will have to switch out with a different weapon - maybe a +15 MSGS since I like the move set.I am going to really have to work on the armor set-up though (this is most difficult step for me) - will most likely have to get used to a slower moving toon though After the mass invasion event toon building will begin in earnest.I need to do some serious research on optimal builds before I start though cause I don't want to have to re-roll.

Aye - I prefer the Über Greatswords just because of the swing motion - great stunlock and dead angles anyway thank you - I enjoy slow moving toons because I never us the DWGR xD
