Broke I am with that the pike says its the longest but everyone SAYS its demons/DSS/pike so I dunno :?:

So I am a little dissapointed with some of our fellow hunters...I made a sl80 pyro/CB build and finished NG and I am a darkwraith...but I screwed my pyro up so I took him into NG+...now that I am already a DW I don't have to kill Sif anytime soon cheers

I decided why not get on the other side of the blade and try to host solo...it started of great my build is strong at 40 dex CB is basically maxed...I went on a pretty damn good run bleeding everything in sight...then the ganking started I ran into a 1v3 and took a horents BS sad

I mean the 1 hunter I had dueled earlier in the kiln...he was hosting solo I was respectful when I beat him and bowed...why host solo at the kiln and duel then hunt the forest and gank a solo host?....I just don't understand some people!

I am going to keep the forest open and host solo no matter how many ganks I face or how many times I die...I am a DW after all and humanity is pretty easy to come by lol!

    Happy hunting!

Good hearing from you bro. Glad to see you still on the front lines. Yeah - there is some controversy on the lengths of those particular spears so I am going to be testing them all myself.

Sorry about your experience hosting in the forest - its just such a mix bag on both sides of the fence. When I try to give a host some love by not banging him - they attack me while fighting the other hunter so I am forced to defend myself. For example this morning I invaded a host who was using poison arrows - little does he know that doesn't work on me. So I hold-up behind a tree letting him get closer and closer to me (he trying to get a better arrow shot) - I jump from behind the tree and harrass him a bit so he backs off but continues attacking me with poison arrows. So back behind a tree I go - I'm thinking come on dude lets cross blades instead of this bow crap. Then the previous hunter the camper killed when I initially invaded warps back in - now the camper starts to shoot arrows at him and TURNS HIS BACK TO ME. That really pissed me off (plus he was still using a bow) because I'm supposed to be his opponent (plus the other hunter was acting honorably by staying back a bit). So I do a quick BS to attact his attention and he continues to attack the other hunter and TURNS HIS BACK TO ME AGAIN - I'm like WTF!!. Now he has a 1v2 on his hands because the other hunter is simply trying to defend himself. I think he had a personal grudge against the other hunter but by this time I'm really pissed - so he gets a pike to the back and death comes calling.

I think we need to open a public relations office in the forest to promote better behaviour for hosts and invaders. I just don't know what to expect when I invade - but I love it all the same.

@Infamous - how do you like the Great Axe? I have been wanting to play around with it a bit since I maxed-out a Chaos version. I haven't really learned the moveset (I think the R1 is what is used the most) as of yet but I am going to start training with it shortly. Been watching some vids of players using it and other than it being a tad slower than what I'm used to (well the Mura is slow with the 1st swing but after that it's all gravy) but the stun-lock and damage is impressive. I have only seen one hunter use it in the forest but I have not fought any campers using it. It seems if you get one good hit with GA then the remaining swings should pretty much finish your opponent. But if you miss - a BS is now ur new BFF.

Got any good tips for old Broke on how to best use Great Axe? This question is for anyone who can provide some feedback on their experiences with the weapon.

As I use no DWGR normally - Backstep is my best friend - invincibility frames and uses Wild dash attack - 2h is a spin round like the GS's It dead angles great and with SLB on a couple of hits normally kills the ganker, if they attempt to roll out of the hit the greataxe also normally catches them with lag and if they normal roll they will take damage at the end of the roll sometimes. You have to bait enemies in with a false R1 - it is great for dead angling also, roll at enemy unlocked - turn around as you attack - goes through shield or breaks guard everytime for me ready to get them into the 2hit KO Stunlock.

Excellent tips!! Can't wait to give this a try later tonight. Will practice the moveset in PVP first then on to the forest I go. Thanks bro - indeed a true tactician.

haha - your welcome - its how I use Bastard sword too. Love the backstep! Heck - it is even great with Murakumo, well just about all weapons, but especially strength ones and halberds.

Yeah - the bastard sword is my second favorite great sword type weapon behind the Mura. I have been able to kill a couple of campers and minions with bastards tip damage when they think they have rolled out range. This great when you have hit them a few times stun-locking them - then they recover poise then roll-out. Never tried the backstep then attack purposefully but I will give the moveset a try.

Level up, you'll become the terror of the forest. Unless you use that character for FC or dueling in the burg of PW. You should level though, so you can use ALL the spells!

    ..It's like I'm trapped inside a pyramid
Makin sacrifices as they catch me like a fisherman
Tryna make these dividends, prayin to start fitting in
Stuck between two paths, I'm just a hunting man
I don't know whether to stay with my clan
Alvina says I can have anything with her in my life
But Kaathe showed me I can do it, man he tells no lies
At least I thought he didn't, until I chose his side
Then he closed his eyes & turned me into one immobilized
    Wow, Im a potent guy.
Slashing up the host, and his poltergeists
leave their abdomens open, they knew they shouldn't fight
now that their leaking blood, just like an open pipe.
    "I couldn't hope to swipe"
    "I shouldn't gank, alright!?"
"Why oh why, did he destroy us guys?"
Because of my omnipotence. "Now time to die!"

Meh - Might enter a cypher with these lyrics - idk

Doesn't all have to rhyme xD it is more about phonetics rather than rhyming - syllables make the beat more - just made an edit.

Ya Broke there is bad apples on both sides...this was literally my 1st time hosting In the forest and it was a blast even tho I was getting ganked....all my hunting was taught how to deal with gankers pretty well...it was actually a DW that got me I just about had both hunters down when he got me with the BS...betrayed by my own!

Please let me know what your find out about those spears?

Infamous pretty said what I was going to tell ya about the GA....it is slow but pretty damn good dead angles...the roll R1 when you unlock dead angles like crazy...doing the back step attack is also very effective with the invc frames...and can be a great setup parry move if you short the attack then parry! On that subject false attacks or shorted strikes are the best setup parry methods...when you miss people tend to wanna rush a quick strike in....big mistake!!!

If you can load out the weight its about 10 pounds more I would suggest the demons great axe its actually slightly faster or the same speed as GA but hits way harder and waaaaay more reach same moveset! On my new 120 I throw dmb 3 on that bad boy and the gankers fall pretty fast!!

Well people tonight the bang is the worst its been in a while.I have been Mura'd, katana'd, B knife'd to death for about four straight invasions. The mass invasion cannot start soon enough - these campers are dug in like they ain't leaving. 😢 I have been trying to test some new weapons and these dudes aren't given old Broke the opportunity cause I'm fighting for my life. I even added two new campers to the bang at all cost section of the bingo book. Well I've never been someone to run from a fight so I will be invading all freaking night fighting like a maniac.

Tell me bout it broke. I got parried for the first time since I've been back, and with a parry dagger no less! I knew I should have stuck to pyromancy that time. Ugh, atleast I paid him back with a trade off, taking a washing pole to the stomach and cutting him in two the the MLGS's 1hr2.

Well folks the night slowly got better - I had about three good 1v1s (1 win, 1 withdraw (cause camper ran to get is buddy when I had him hurt for like the 3rd time), and 1 loss). Two of those 1v1s was with a clone of my Arch-Nemisis  This camper must've had crazy HP I just could not finish him in the 1st bout - I had him hurt bad three times - so on his third near death experience the camper ran to his red buddy with a sliver of life left. I just BC'd out :x .Next time I fought him it was straight-up close quarters poking and slashing - I won with a sliver of my life left.Stamina and the old trusty Mura (a.k.a "Kusanagi") pulled it out for me.The camper appeared to run out of gas near the end of the flurry of blows but I was still sitting pretty - just had kill him before he killed me.I tell you the DSS is the bane of my existence!!! But I can go to sleep on a high note tonight cheers .

    Fight and die well people!!

Glad to hear your night went better Broke...the DSS can be pretty frusterating in the right hands...but for spammers if your poise is stacked you can just eat the 1st shot and parry the next!

The very first hunter I fought tonight BS's me while I bowed...so I thought oh great its going to be one of those nights 😢

But I actually had a super fun night meeting some awesome hunters...much much better night! It was great one hunter backed off when another vaded and when I beat the hunter we would parry practice with fists till the next vaded!

I made a friend and met some great duelers...also met a few funny ones...1 guy vades with mura in his right and Grant in his left lol...good times!!

Urgh, not a nice night to be me, chain backstab galore. not quite as eloquent and descriptive as broke but suffice to say I am enraged...

Dan unlock always and roll back into them and half the time you can roll behind them and bs them...either way you won't get chain bs'd ever again!

I had 1 kiln ganker nemisis for a while I chain bs'd him 5 times with my fist and the 6th was my bandits knife lol!
