befowler wrote:I usually win 3v1s by running around a lot and turning it into 3 1v1s instead. But others have a lot of success with AOE spells or using chokepoints like Alvina's bridge. Most farmers are overconfident to a fault (at least until the host is alone and then they panic quit), but part of it is they are willing to take some damage in order to kill you faster and keep their farming rate up. By running away and dodging alot, you slow down their farming and actually hurt them more sometimes than even flat out killing them, which in turn annoys and frustrates them, which in turn makes them careless and dead.
The best farmer victory to me isn't one where you sail in and just kill them quickly, because they'll just respawn and start up again. It's where you waste their time for 20 minutes and then kill them in the and anyway (ideally somewhere really far from the bonfire so the host has to trek all the way back there for their bloodstain too - bonus points if it is down near the Hydra so they have to contend with that).
Exacta - that is why I like long battles. I force campers to expend as much resources as possible in order to earn the win - I'm not just going to give it to them like a gift. As you can see in my "Longest Battle SLB vs SLB" vid I made that camper fight at least 3-4 other hunters before we went "mano a mano". Some would call this cowardly but I call it tactics - wear the fools down like chalk. That is probably why the camper indicted me because he went so far and fought so many just to be defeated. Like Kenpachi says "I like long fights!!" - that is the reason he wears the eye patch so battles don't end so quickly.
Good times people good times.

@Dan, I'd recommend picking it up, using it against people that attack from a distance not knowing their own weapons length and prodding them for some easy damage.

Current SL is 119 but I have about 2 million souls stacked up and accumulating and If I go for the DSS then I will be going for the NG+ and will inevitably lose my soul stack.

If it's the bosses you're worried about, I would help you kill them.

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
Just my general sillyness I might take you up on that... still think that going up too broke's level would be nice since we are (correct me if I am wrong) currently the two most prolific forest hunters on XBL.

Dan - that would great. I like seeing quality high level hunters in the forest (currently SL302 and rising!! - yeah baby, yeah!!). That dang DSS is the most difficult weapon to fight against at least for me. That thing packs a punch. I may even try to dual wield it since I should be able to carry it (only weighs 10 lbs like my pike so I should be good to go) while still being able to flip around. In fact I will give it a try tonight. The only draw back for me is the DSS seems more cumbersome (e.g. slower attack) than a pike but I will test it out as part of my dual weapons training.
Also, I am trying to determine which spear has longest reach - DSS, pike, silver knight spear or Demon spear. I have read the demon spear has the longest reach followed by the DSS (or is it the silver knight spear??). The pike's description says it is the longest non-projectile weapon but I don't know for sure. Anyone know definitively?
Still learning people, still learning.

Re: For the Glory of Alvina
Hmm, I dont really get the bias against lawyers. it strikes me similar to people who claim to hate the police, you dont see them complaining when they need em (also shkar I know it was said in jest I just dont get this)
also gratz! I couldn't do it, apparently it would suit me because I have a very argumentative nature but I wouldn't be able to do it I dont think...
And broke I will as soon as I get a build together that I am satisfied with (A whole 300 soul levels ! )
Hm. cant say I am satisfied with its armour setup but it gets me greatsword poise while fastrolling. going to have to pack blooming clumps :/

@Amos, if you don't mind me asking, what type of law are you looking into? I am considering going the way of a constitutional lawyer at the moment.
