I think cutting poise in half would still be a better option. The description could be something like:

"Makes the wearer lighter than air, but they lose their footing much more easily.

The assassins of the far east took pride in their ability to out maneuver their foes, but their lack of fortitude made even the smallest attacks detrimental to their movement. "

That way even someone wearing full havels with the dwgr only has just over 60 poise.

Thats how I roll pretty much. I use armor for the looks.

Plus for its weight, most of the light armor offers great defense against elemental and magic weapons, meaning 80% of players you go against won't do good damage to you.

All this talk about medium roll being ok, the truth of the matter is it isn't as good as the flip roll (IMO). Not only does it give more i-frames and mobility, but it also allows for more defense and poise per stat point.

I'll agree that flipping tanks are annoying though.

There are 3 things to keep in mind when choosing armour. In order - Style, poise, weight.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would say that the medium roll is as good as the ninja flips, just that they've found the medium roll to be adequate and the ninja flips not entirely necessary for their builds winking

Ok, that makes sense. Never really cared for the medium roll myself, but I haven't used it in PvP either.

I never said medium rolling is better, it is a fact it is much weaker. But I still like to do it, think of it as fighting with an arm behind your back. You lose, oh well you had a massive disadvantage. You win? Ha! You beat them with only one arm!

Better then the R2 is the plunge attack, goes off fast and has a long reach. Plus it knocks people down

Honestly I do not have a build with the DWGR. I have had nearly 30 builds by now and I think I only used it 2 or 3 times right when the game first came out. It just looks too bloody stupid to use. it is an embarrassment.
