Can't get invaded or invade

I can't be invaded at all in oolacile township so i thought people actually stopped playing the game, then i talked to a dude who was getting invaded all the time: same level, same spot.
Any suggestion on what's going on with my ds? Those five ports are now opened(one year ago in the same situation there was no problem and i had not forwarded them) and i'm playing gfwl if it matters.

Manus must be alive in order to be invaded? I feel kinda stupid now..

Yeah, he counts as the boss of the Oolacile township. And as counts for any area, you can only get invaded if the boss is alive.

I've been invaded in anor londo with the bosses dead(both the deity too, not sure if count), why?
Anyway, thanks for the info, i guess i'll have to go for new game+

I think Darkmoons can always invade you in dark anor londo

Light Anor Londo where Ornstein and Smough are dead should be uninvadable. Dark Anor Londo can be invaded by DMs though. (when you've attacked Gwynnevere)
