Re: The Metal thread.
Crashing a car into a toll booth is very metal. I worked with a guy at Toys R Us in Clifton park that did sound at northern lights sometimes. He was working the night I saw Prong and Powerman there. I used to think that bars, and that one in particular couldn't achieve a good mix acoustically speaking. He got those bands sounding amazing. I asked what he did different than everyone else ever in a bar and he said, I don't play it as loud, it can't handle it. I never noticed a volume difference so he got some mad props from me.
Also, this man needs no moves like Jagger. Or Richards

My melodeath contribution for the night.
Amorphis!
Colony, Jester Race, Whoracle. My favorite Old In Flames. I love Mirrors Truth, Sounds to Your Escape, Come Clarity(FAVORITE). Sounds of a Playground Fading is alright. I have seen them twice. They opened up to Soilwork(Another favorite band) back in 2006 at the House in Chicago. I was living in Chicago and went to see them then saw them 7 years later in San Diego!

Re: The Metal thread.
^ I think the only one I don't really care for is Sense of Purpose. There were only a couple songs off it that I could even listen to, and the lyrics were so bad it made it kind of embarrassing to even do that. I think I am the Highway is the only song I still listen to. Everything else is awesome though. Love all their other albums. Even the live one, Live in Tokyo is awesome
If I had to pick a favorite I think I'd be torn between Clayman and Come Clarity.

It is a nod to both Alex Grey, the artist who drew the flaming eye and to Tool. Huge fan of both.

I love Raintime, especially their cover of Beat It!
You want power metal? Have some Angra. These guys keep it real in Brazil.
Who could forget Helloween?
Sonata Arctica - 8th Commandment; If you like power metal, you like this song.

Re: The Metal thread.
So, amazon kinda doesn't advertise this a whole lot but....they have a bunch of free music
Looks like the Metal section is a little smaller than it used to be (still gotta dig through to see if there's anything new) but usually some good samplers and stuff to check out new bands and whatnot.
Also, every year there's a March album from Armoury that's pretty good.
Last but not least, love the intro to this song, particularly the echo effect on the percussion.....awesome!
