I gave the dagger a go earlier, i didn't buff it as most of you said, i was on my Q build 28 Str 45 Dex +5 crystal dagger, with leo ring. the damage output of it nonbuffed seems lacking However i could chain together 2-3 hits and then one leo ring powered 2hr2 before they knew what had happened.
so i could score bout 800 damage in about 3 moves. so i am inclined to Agree with the op on this one

The dagger is a great DPS weapon, but only if you can close the distance quickly (in my experience). I usually use it dual-wielding and no poise. It also makes you surprisingly better at dodging and rushing if you put on the Calamity Ring with it.

Meh, a dagger is just a baby sword. Gimme a DMB buffed DGA any day of the week (preferably with hornet ring... not that i'll ever be able to bs/parry anyone 
).

Which seems better for a duel knives build? Dagger as the main weapon and bandit as the parry weapon? Hornet ring is added and the main weapon will be buffed.
