Head towards the trees, use a lloyd's on the host so they can't flask, kill incapable phantom with an effective weapon, do the channeler dance, chase down fleeing host, terminate the host by any means necessary (hacking is not an option), and do the channeler dance again.

Another good strategy is to run onto the narrow ledge to the right of Alvina's house which takes you behind the house with the connecting bridge to your left. Most hosts and phantoms will be reluctant to follow you around there which gives you time to heal up.

If they do attempt to follow you round there you should easily be able to knock them off the ledge as it's so narrow. If they hang back and try and hit you with spells you can just stand by the bridge and they shouldn't be able to hit you.

yeah good idea pilgrim. but isnt it possible the get thrown down the cliff yourself by being hit through the wall with a heavy attack or anything else that could knock you off your feet? never happened to me but the thought of it however has occured to me
