    Post by ErrJon6661 Fri Mar 16, 2012 7:16 pm

This is a user made covenant I have created for many reasons.

The purpose of this covenant is not for lore though there is some brief background to explain the covenant. It is to challenge yourself. The covenant has harsh restrictions and forces you to play in a way many do.

If you plan on joining please let go of ideas such as stunlock, poise, stat maxing and one on one gameplay.

This isn't a covenant for duelists or tanks.

To start off you are restricted to making characters that focus on dexterity and intelligence. You may use sorceries dependent on the type of character you chose to join as. Your weapon choice is restricted to small weapons and in some cases only daggers or no weapons at all. There are few pieces of armor you may wear, many have little to no defence, none have poise but some may increase your magic abilities.

The details of the covenant are laid out in the Assassins of Vinheim wiki page, linked in my signature.

Anyone, xbox or ps3 is welcome to join so long as they wish to follow the rules.

This covenant is hard to play as but it is extremely rewarding.

Its Xbox or PS3. I'm on PS3 but either works for it. Just have to invade in the area the events are in.

Covenant has been altered to be a bit more user friendly.

I've added factions within the covenant to support a few different styles of play. Also after about an hour of pvp last night in sens fortress I've removed the ban on elemental weapons. Even at sl 30 it seems everyone uses +5 lightning claymores.

When I get back people will get "tin crystallization catalyst + red tear stone + crown of dusk + bellowing dragon crest ring" CSSs in the rear by a Silver Knight statue in Sen's.

My favouritet is turning Sens into a gauntlet. I get them to invade in the first area then draw them through Sens using the pendulumns and Boulders to kill/ hurt them bad then pull back up along the walkways to the dark area with the Crestfallen guy where I finish them off.

The whole process takes about 4 mins if the invader knows Sens well. Most of the time I get either a total slur of hate or praise for my deviousness.

Yes, you can check out the wiki link in my signature in a few minutes as I'm editing the page right now.

But basically you can pay us to run attacks on certain players and covenants.

I know, but I just don't have the time to work on so many covenants characters right now, I'm not even really able to play dark souls :|, hopefully you manage to get this covenant going, I think that it has a lot of potential and can also create some interesting dynamics with the other covenants

How about this for a low level potential Assassin.

Vinhiem Infiltrator- Issur van Halt - mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?c=229046619

"Issur van Halt is a man whose name is only known by a select few amongst the highest ranking members of the Dragon School, and his name is often spoken of with disdain and mistrust. Amongst all of the political schemes and closely guarded research there exists a few brilliant yet apathetic scholars who delve into the secrets of others rather than pursue thier own knowledge. van Halt is amongst these men. While he is considered the pioneer of transmutational magic and inoclastic synergies I would be more apt to say that he aquired the basic premises of such lofty concepts from several of his co workers."

Well is this a good low level build or what?

Its kinda between a Spook and a Darkstalker. It needs to be shoved into one or the other. It needs to focus on one or the other, so either giving up velka's, or giving up the higher damaging sorceries, mainly chsm.

That'd ruin the point of the two classes my friend. You could make that character a gravelord and be a trapmaster if you wanted, as they have much fewer restrictions.

Assassins of Vinheim Empty Re: Assassins of Vinheim

Post by FinPeku Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:24 pm

I've been on fire with my vinheim spook lately. I was able to assassin three targets in a row. I wish I had a capture card.

I've usually won with css but this time my bandit's knife showed it's value. The fights were something like this:

    1. The first one was actually pretty much the best example of what this covenant is all about. I invaded at anor londo, in front of the boss fog. Waited some time - searched for the host and provoked him to follow me - used chameleon behind a corner and bang. The sound of bandit's knife going through that poor guys back was just unspeakably satisfying. Not that exciting fight, but the assassination was perfect.

    2. This one was a close call. Same place, but the host was fighting one of the royal sentinels. I tried to run behind the corner of the stairs and used chameleon but he saw me. He started running towards me and I barely rolled under his huge greatsword and was able to dodge without taking any damage. He must have been out of stamina or something cause he couldn't dodge my oneshotting crystal soul spear.

    3. I invaded the same guy again after a while and this fight was the most interesting. Again, he was fighting the royal sentinel near the shortcut gate. He took some giant halberd to face and fled out to drink orange juice. I quickly ran behind the opened gate hoping for an easy backstab. He didn't saw me but I'm sure he guessed what was going on. He didn't make a move and I decided to encounter him. He changed weapon and started turtling with some kind of lightning spear. I took one bad hit and ran back inside. He didn't want that sentinel involved so I was safe. I tried to figure out a way to beat him and started to throw poison knifes at him just to piss him off. He actually failed to dodge some of them and was poisoned. With a crazed smile on my face I changed to dung pies and was able to intoxicate him. Exposed to both poison and toxin he started to lose health so fast that he completely paniced and tried to heal himself. I saw my chance and struck my dagger through his back. Great fight! Fairly successful assassination.

Good luck to all of you fellow assassins. Keep your blades sharp and spells ready. Share your stories! happy

Are we sharing stories now? In that case...

This just happened in Sen's. It was my first sucsessful assasination ever.

So, I invade this guy, and start running down, hiding at every step. Eventually, I see that the balls are still rolling by the original spot, so I know that he is probably either talking to Sigmeyer, or is at the top of the fortress. I run to the room where the second trap is, cast chameleon, and wait. Eventually he runs in, takes one look around, and runs away. A little while later, I see that he has summoned a phantom. He runs back into the room, and I jump out and fire Great Heavy Soul Arrow. This guy starts to run like a madman, and runs right into the second rolling ball track. I Backstab him twice, but he flasks both times. Then, we both get nailed by a ball. I kick him down onto a lower section, then plunge attack him. At this point, we are both at like, 10% health left, and we are circling eachother frantically. Then a ball rolls down and kills both of us. It gave me credit for the win.

May not sound like much, but it was awesome.
