Re: The Darkroot Woods
As for the Hornet Ring question...is it impossible that one of Gwyn's knights was female? If so, could she and Artorias had something romantic going on? And if so...could she be the one who had to kill him, given his trust in her as a lover? To be honest, I'm stealing this from Metal Gear 3's Joy/Sorrow story and more recently from Adventure Time's Ghost Princess (who was Warrior Princess before she died) backstory...but I don't know, if the corpse is really a woman, why would she just randomly be dead behind Artorias' grave? I think she killed herself there, as it truly doesn't seem like she died in battle. Some Romeo and Juliet s**t right there, you know?
Ciaran is one of my favorite knights, and your analogy to adventure time made me cry a single sweet tear, so I am replying regardless of if these other two already pretty much answered you, damnit!
In the japanese version I hear that the hornet ring actually refers to Ciaran as a she, so I have no doubt in my mind there was a female knight and that was the hornet user! However, if you examine the corpse behind Artorias's grave its a man. So, its possible the devs were careless, or she had her ring stolen... or.... I don't know something else crazy could have happened.
Someone had a really -crazy- idea that I like for its crazyiness and thats that she was horribly mutiliated fighting artorias, and she became the anor firekeeper, I can't prove or disprove but it is a fun little theory. And the firekeeper does use a parry dagger and .. estoc I think, both with good critical damage, and meant for parry/backstabbing. You can also find both of those items on two corpses in New Londo, as well as the ring of curse resistance and ring of red tear stone, all of which, excluding estoc.. are from carim.
Personally I agree that they were probably in love, and Ciaran being Gwyns spook was the one to finish him. But we will see more when the PC release comes out, since all 4 knights are suppose to be present for that, guess I will be hiding from the forums to avoid spoilers while I twiddle my thumbs waiting for DLC...

Re: The Darkroot Woods
Hi guys, I'm new to this site haha so excuse me if I can't use it correctly, but there was something that crossed my mind, the new area called "oz's tomb" has something that stood out. Since Oz is a place, how can you have a tomb for it? So does that mean that there was a person called Oz? The founder? But I don't know haha

Re: The Darkroot Woods
It's probably something along the lines of the Tomb of the Giants, maybe it is the underground ruins of the civilization, as the forest we now see grew over it. Or a tomb within Oz where they bury their dead, that's my current assumption. By the way welcome to the forum. Feel free to introduce yourself and post around, I hope you stay a while.

Re: The Darkroot Woods
We use the term Oz because some member don't like typing oolacil, not sure if you knew that.
I think oolacils tomb is likely just a mass grave for all the inhabitants, perhaps the ones that passed on before it was turned to ash, it is common for people to keep catacombs of their beloved dead ones near by. So perhaps it was the graveyard that was on the outskirts of the town. Containing many bodies rather than a specific body.
But we won't really know for sure until the new release I guess.
EDIT: TOOOOLLVOOOOOO!!!!

And knowing FROM they'd make it harder than the rest of the game. You'd have to do it just rght or die.

Haha thanks Tolvo! I hope I do stay here, I'm really liking it But anywho, I remember reading a post about Alvina using chameleon to camoflague as the cat. I just belive that she's a descendant of the Rolling cats in the Forest.

Re: The Darkroot Woods
I did some lore hunting and think Alvina and the rolly cats are a type of cat demon at different stages.
Dough, it's not as of From hasn't left a lot of misspellings in the game before. My vote on comb
