Nice vids Amos, will have to listen to the commentary later. At work and audio is a bad idea.

Had an interesting night of invasions last night. I was waiting for Serious to co-op for his tour so I was killing time by killing campers. Prior to meeting up with Serious, I was getting beat up by another group of gankers a few times but at least made them use some resources. I invaded them at one point where they just finished off a hunter and both the host and phantom had a sliver of life left. They both rushed me still trying to get the win to their credit but the phantom fell easily to a running attack and the host looked like she was going to engage and then started sprinting. Black Iron means lazy running for me. However, quick switch to my Beatrice catalyst and guess who won the race between the camper and the soul spear? Side note to this: I finally got enough souls to level up and switch to crystal soul spear (yay).

So right before Serious jumps on I must have found the sweet internet spot. I get invaded by a Darkwraith in the Burg and can't see the guy. Suddenly a mostly naked guy with a small shield and sword shows up and is more red than I expected. FIRST GRAVELORD ENCOUNTER! I start clearing mobs (those black phantoms are highly aggressive apparently) and get a message the wraith perished somehow. Whatever. No biggie. I got a sign to find!I get to the top of the roof where you'd jump to get the crossbow and look back to the burg arena. Somehow another Wraith invaded without a message. Sweet! Super internet fun time! He starts with a Mura (I blame Broke for their popularity since I see these a TON lately). After he realizes he's not going to win that way he switches to pyro. He has these stacked big time but apart from singeing my fresh gear he wasn't going to win that way either. Since my armor is already black that wasn't even noticeable either actually. Sadly, the Gravelord was killed before I found the sign but what fun!

After Serious and I stopped trying to connect (my internet or his musta went to ****) I did some more invasions. Won a couple (wasn't on long) but the best was a revenge kill. Another group extremely good at the gank knocked me around a few times. I ran and strategized near the cats (why do people forget to kill the cats?) and can see them engage something near the NPC area. The phantom is killed and I start running. I don't know what happened but I gotta get there faster than he can summon again. I find the host still in the NPC area clearing and he tries to run back to the stairs. I follow and let him know I am with a running slice to say "hello." As proficient of a gank backstabber as they were.....the host couldn't duel to save his life. So he lost it quickly.

Other notable: I invaded with a red who I accidentally hit twice (one WoG and one stupidly wide scythe arc). Sorry dude! Not used to reds very often these days.

Weirdest win in the history of the game to be posted later........

Sweet gravelord action. I've invaded some gravelords, but have never seen BPs. Starting to wonder if it's a PS3 issue, like resonance rings. I know some PS3 folks can get the BPs, but they seem much less common than Xbox.

I think so. Like I said, this was my first in over 300 hours of play. It's interesting to see so much action at sl212. Several wraiths, a gravelord and more white signs than I see in a lot of other places. I guess the burg is hopping!

    DOUBLE POST! Woot!

As promised, my weirdest win ever. I invade a lone host in the middle of the forest and see the "summoning phantom" message right away. I approach hoping there's some delay and I catch the host solo. No luck. I show my face and lemon buff and point at the newly spawned Sunbro. He starts walking toward me slowly which was a surprise. More so that the host wasn't immediately following. I lead the Sunbro toward the woodsy areas to give space between us and the host. We trade a few attacks with no major wins on either side. Out of nowhere he takes over 700 damage. Ok. There's an invisible hunter who neither of us can see. That's not so weird. This is important for later....the Sunbro was clearly reacting to me and no one else. Also, he didn't show any evidence of lag. He gets whacked again I assume because he looked like he did. I didn't see any damage pop up and he simply ceased to exist. Ok....that's a little weird. I start looking for the host and see he's in the clearing by Alvina's house. Bear in mind I spotted him immediately AND he's very far away. Before I can start running he takes damage. And I'm not talking NPC damage. He took over 1100. Now this is only a second or two tops after the Sunbro was killed. So either there were TWO invisibles who took these guys out or someone perfected a Speedy Gonzalez build

The host could've been hit by the bandit npc. She hits like a runaway ice cream van.

Indeed, but even for NG+ thats a little extreme for the bandit.... sounds like something odd, I have had random damage before.

True but the damage does not increase nearly as much, and if they were heavily armoured it makes that kind of hit even weirder...

I've had that bandit riposte me and that's no joke for sure. But unless I missed the trajectory of the host greatly that's an NPC that shouldn't have gone aggro. To be honest though I would die laughing if they tried to gank me and the host gets straight out murdered because they panicked and ran into an NPC

Yessir. I've never (knocking on wood again) been riposted in PvP but I got aggressive on the bandit once and paid the price. If I recall it took about two thirds of my health. It's definitely possible that the bandit got him. I would have been hard pressed to see that particular NPC at that distance. This thought still amuses and I will add for other's laughter as well:

There was never any return damage. The host got hit once for 1100 and once for lesser and that was it. Bandit NPC for the flawless victory!

@ skare - you probably encountered one of the wierd glitches of the game - an out of phase hunter (or invader). I caught this effect in one of my vids (in fact I think Infamous's 2nd forest vid shows a camper fighting a invisible phantom). Sometimes I think a camper or invisible invader can straddle two worlds which creates a situation in which you cannot see the invader who is damaging your opponent but they clearly can (it usually looks like the camper is swinging at empty air). It may be due to lag (e.g. network latency) or some other reason but it happens. Like I mentioned before one time I invaded and the other hunter was swinging away at thin air - to me it appeared to be nothing there but the hunter was clearly fighting something. So while I was squaring off against the lone camper I suddenly see the dark spirit killed message. At the time I did not know what was going on - I was worried the camper had a cloaked minion in there with us but the other phantom never showed.
