Man...what am I gonna do when Bind gets around to my signature request? I don't want to get rid of any part of mine, especially the Pony emotes because they're basically the mods' gift to me from the April Fool's shenanigans, but if I put a whole banner-style image in it without getting rid of something it will definitely get too full... sad

I'd feel ungrateful were I to cover up my sig. BindMind worked so hard on it, I feel it deserves to be showcased.

You're current sig is fine. Not sure why you are concerned about being a target. Our issue is the wall of text signature boxes that have both an image and lines upon lines of text, links and emotes. It is a lot of scrolling to get past these users' posts.

Double post apologies, but this seems a good time to solicit feedback. Since we are trying to make sigs tidy while still allowing for creativity, here is a proposed set of guidelines:

1. Sigs can only be 6 lines of text (whether you double space or not)
2. Anything beyond 6 must be included in a spoiler box (the spoiler box counts as a line)
3. If a user has an image, all text must be included in a spoiler box.
4. We will be setting pixel limits generous enough to accomodate the recent images, but the final number is not yet determined. Suggestions are welcome.

Maybe Pendants or Spurguns should be max size?

I'll of course comply with whatever you decide on. To be honest, I am trying to save my sig, but while making the rules more fair and clear too!

Same. I just made my image even smaller, and 3 lines of text I believe is the same size as a spoiler. I wish I could have my hugs, but oh well, right?

PS: I probably should just change it back to the Feigning ablution with Quelana anyway. I feel like my manlihood is being taken away from me when I have this signature on haha!

Sorry for the double post, but I find this is going to be important.

You can make your image into a link! That's right! You can take a whole line of text out by making your image into a link

[img]IMAGESTUFFHERE[img]

That's the code. Oh, and I'm going to make this picture even smaller as well. I think this will be very helpful for those of you who only have one link.

Hope it helped big grin

Okay Blaine, aka Forum Hunk, I agree with your point and will immediately shrink my signature.

And to the mods, please don't make a rule that makes my image too big! I know its one of the taller ones but I love it so much and I will endeavor to considerably shrink the overall sigs size.

Yes I would agree. I think a post in general where everyone will look at it should solve the problem, I don't think we need to go so far as to make rules about it. We seem to be a good community and a forum announcement or something should solve the problem.

In other news my Sig is now smaller though I don't think it's small enough. What i need is a storage place for builds, other then my poor over loaded bookmarks window on my phone.

Edit: now its even smaller! Now mods please please let me keep the tallish picture!

You can take my text but you'll never take my WATERING CAN!

Actually I like the proposed guidelines with Bla1ne's suggestion (for obvious reasons)

Stuff like that becomes tedious to moderate for us, which is why it's easier to say if you have an image then use a spoiler box.

To be frank, I would rather the self regulation approach, the community is very good at stuff like that. It would be rather annoying to have to issue warnings on cosmetic affairs. But here is the problem, the moment we nudge a member that their sig is too big, defensive behavior ensues as well as finger pointing. Before we know it, we have 10 new sigs to look at and complaints of due process, there isn't a guideline for it, yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah, awareness is the first step. Many members have already volunteered to downsize their sigs (thanks guys!), so +1 for self-regulation.

Well maybe just try making an announcement encouraging folks to shrink their sigs and maybe include some general guide lines. Im betting it would work fine, and if it doesn't you can then create a limit in the fotum or whatever. Just seems you could accomplish the task with a simple forum announcement as most of us, me included, just hadn't thought of it until it was pointed out.

I should probably choose what threads to link in my signature haha, actually most of them are in the Resources thread, so I should probably just link that in my signature. What do you think guys? I want to hear from you! Because I can't think for myself, and it is five AM.
