Completely useless facts I find interesting

On the Leo ring the animal that can be found on it bares resemblance to a Chimera.


You can see on the left that there is the mane of a lion and on the right the tail looks much more like a snake. However the third head, the head of a goat I believe, can't be seen as it normally is specified in mythology to be a third head. Unless that thing right next to the lion head is that of the goat head.

Silver Knights have a special dying animation if you kill them with pyromancy or a fire weapon.

Wait, really? I might have to go do that

Yup.

It's nothing special, they shake really fast and then disappear.

I haven't tested it on Black Knights, they're too fire resistant for me to want to spend so much time whacking them with fire weapons.

Also, the Mass of Souls in New Londo catch on fire when hit with fire, and I think Darkwraiths might do the shaking thing too, I can't remember.

I really have no clue what Chester would be.

He holds his crossbow like a Silver Knight holds it's sword.

But his running animation is unique to him, nothing else grabs a hat on their head when they run, and I don't think anything else does sweeping kicks.

A lot of enemies shake when killed with fire

I don't use fire weapons too much, so it surprised me

Smough's Hammer absorbs 10 health of an enemy when you hit them.

I just found out that the snakeman in sen's by the shortcut can get in the elevator with you....that was interesting.

And btw...he doesn't fit imo.

Ciaran will throw Lloyd's Talismans at you if you start to run low on health.

She throws them at me the first thing she does.

The sleeping snakeman that leans on the wall you destroy to get to Logan can destroy the wall, so you don't have to go and turn the boulders.

Some light armors will roll up or change the sleeves depending on what hand armor pieces you wear.

So on another thread I reminded myself that almost all of Shiva's gear appears to be of Indian origin save for his sword (the name at least, the shape is tough to pin down but could also be Indian).  I used to be sold on the idea that his helmet was modeled after a kendo one but I just did a quick search and the spike, mostly closed face and decorative features are actually pretty close to some Indian helmets as well.  

That got me thinking to today's useless fact: 


There's barely any gear in game that reflect a Japanese model.  What is there, four swords (Iaito, Washing Pole, Katana and Chaos Blade?) and the Shadow Set.  I could be missing a few things I suppose but overall they really kept it Western World oriented (West of Japan).

i dont know if its been said yet but why oh why can you take like 2-3 hits from a massive poise eating weapon in full havels with wolf ring without staggering yet when a scrawny bacon zombie pokes you with a flaming stick you stumble like a b****?
